ABOUT

OWNER AND DIRECTOR:

 

Beatriz started her training in ballet at age 4 under the direction of Russian ballet instructors. After several years of training, she got the opportunity to perform with the New York City Ballet during the production of Cinderella.

      

       After graduating from High School, she moved to St. Petersburg, FL, where she was able to continue her dance training. While attending college at Park University, she became a member of the New River Dance Team.

 

       After graduating from college, Beatriz got married and started a family. Her husband got stationed at the USMC base, Camp Lejeune, NC. Soon after, she was offered a position at the North Carolina School of Performing Arts in Jacksonville, where she taught ballet, tap, and jazz.

 

      When the School closed, Beatriz decided to open her dance studio in 2009, which she named after her dance team, “New River”.

 

       In 2011, her husband was transferred to Quantico USMC base, where she opened her second studio in Stafford, VA. 

 

       Beatriz is trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Flamenco, Hip Pop, and also has Latin dance experience. She enjoys choreographing competition routines for solos, small groups, and dance teams.

MUSICAL THEATER INSTRUCTOR:

Alyxzandra Blanch is a choreographer and arts educator based in the DMV. She is most prominently known for her work as a choreographer and assistant director with Young Artists of America (YAA) at Strathmore , an award-winning youth arts education non-profit.Alyxz has more than 15 years of performing and teaching experience, with dance and choreography credits at venues including The Kennedy Center, Capital One Hall, Lisner Auditorium, the National Cathedral, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Music Center at Strathmore, as well as in television, film, and U.S. tours. Originally trained in ballet and ballroom at La Papillion Dance, she later developed a passion for hip hop and theatrical performance while signed to Center Stage Management. At YAA, she choreographs large-scale symphonic theatrical productions featuring hundreds of young instrumentalists and musical theater students; selected credits include Disney’s Prince of Egypt with guest mentor Stephen Schwartz, Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame, Disney in Concert, Once Upon a One More Time, Big Fish with guest mentor Andrew Lippa, and Wonderland Youth World Premiere.Alyxz’s teaching philosophy centers on accessible movement and her motto, "If you can clap on beat, I can teach you to dance." She empowers elementary through pre-professional high school students to build confidence and craft in dance, emphasizing technique, musicality, storytelling, discipline, and a supportive environment for students at every experience level.

DANCE INSTRUCTOR:

Tiffany began her dance journey at the age of 4 at Chris Collins’s dance studio, where she honed her skills in tap and ballet. After relocating to Stafford, she continued her ballet training at Avery Ballet, deepening her passion for the art form. Although Tiffany took a break to focus on her college education and career, her love for dance never faded. In 2022, she embraced the opportunity to become a dance instructor at New River Dance Studio, allowing her to share her passion for performance while inspiring the next generation of dancers.

Assistant Tap/Jazz Instructor:

Lionel has been dancing with us since he was just 8 years old, beginning his journey in ballet and tap classes back in 2017. Over the years, he transitioned to tap and jazz, but tin 2025 he decided to embrace ballet once again while continuing his tap and jazz classes. His talent shines through in every performance, earning praise from everyone who sees him dance. We're excited to announce that this year, Lionel will be assisting in our tap and jazz class, sharing his passion and skills with fellow dancers!
